  • If flying, we suggest either flying into Glasgow Airport (GLA) which is 1.5 hours by car OR Edinburgh Airport (EDI) which is 2.5 hours by car to Glenapp Castle.

    We advise to book as soon as possible as flight prices will increase.

  • At Glenapp Castle

    Glenapp Castle boasts many activities on the grounds of the estate. As well as many walks to explore, the 110 acres of private estate and local woodland, a 150 foot Victorian glasshouse, and an all-weather tennis court and croquet lawn. The grounds are bounded on all sides by yet more woodland and open countryside to explore.

    Guests can enjoy a range of country sports from shooting, high pheasant and partridge shooting, deer stalking as well as salmon fishing on the River Stinchar, or trout fishing on a nearby loch.

    Other Outdoor Activities

    The area offers excellent hiking along the coastal paths with dramatic cliff views and beaches. Turnberry Golf Course, one of Scotland's most famous championship courses, is about 30 minutes away.

    Nearby Attractions

    Culzean Castle, a magnificent clifftop castle with beautiful gardens, makes for a wonderful day trip and is about 45 minutes north. The charming fishing village of Portpatrick is roughly an hour south and offers lovely harbor views, seafood restaurants, and coastal walks. For whisky lovers, several distilleries in the region offer tours, including some in nearby Campbeltown.

    Local Experiences

    The area has excellent seafood restaurants to enjoy fresh local catches. Boat trips from nearby harbors can provide scenic coastal tours, and you might even spot seals or dolphins. The region's gardens are particularly beautiful in late May, with rhododendrons and other spring flowers in full bloom.
